Michael Kontaris has over 30 years of project experience, most of which have been concentrated in planning and delivering airport navigation facilities.
He has broad in-depth experience providing both planning, design and procurement- phase services for a diverse range of navigation aids facilities, including ILS, VOR/DME, TACAN, NDB, GCA, Precision Approach Radar and Airfield Ground Lighting. He is currently Airport ACE's senior engineer for the Navigational Aids and Ground Lighting systems.
Prior to joining Airport ACE, Mr. Kontaris served Hellenic Air Force as an Electronic Engineer Officer, occupied among others to various International Regulatory Boards as an expert in Electronics, Communications and Navigation Systems (ICAO Annex 10, Aeronautical Telecommunications and Annex 14, Aerodrome Design and Operations), Ground and Flight Acceptance Tests, Metrology and Calibration (ISO 17025). Mr. Kontaris holds a professional license of Radioelectronics A class, while he has 550 flight hours of NAVAIDS flight inspection and verification of flight procedures at all Greek airports.
